The community involvement of CFER Riverdale
The students decided to get involved with a program called Purple Passion; The circle of Giving. The program encouraged students to learn the value of helping others by demonstrating firsthand how giving back to your community has a domino effect. Our first activity was to hold a Christmas fundraiser; the students themselves baked delicious goods and collected items from their families and members of the community, some of which they refurbished in order to sell, giving a second life to the recycled goods. Graduation ceremony at Riverdale High School
In October of 2010 Riverdale High School held their graduation ceremonies. It was wonderful to have the CFER students included in the graduation ceremony. We were proud to watch four of our students receive their attestation. We were honored to have the presents of Mr. Robert T Mills, Director General of the Lester B. Pearson School Board, Dr. Patry, Minister of Parlimant for D.D.O., and Mr. Christian DuBois, Deputy Mayor of Pierrefonds, who offered their personal congratulations to our graduating students. Journée Rabaska for CFER Riverdale
We started this year running; our first field trip in September was the Journée Rabaska: Programme Bon Depart Canadian Tire. Bon Départ is a program sponsored by Canadian Tire and Carrefour Jeunesse that encourages youth involvement in recreation and sports. It preaches the social benefits of working as a team like cooperation and self-esteem building. [...]
